Wedding Cake Design Process

When designing your cake, one of the most important things to remember is it should reflect who you as a couple are. The second most important detail is for it to be a piece of art which is cohesive in the overall aesthetics you've planned for your wedding. The most common misconception is a wedding cake is just a traditional dessert to cut and serve your guests. However, I believe it should be an experience for you and your guests to remember, not only in the aesthetics, but also in the flavors they are able to experience. I would love nothing more than to help you design a cake for your wedding which will be remembered years from now as something as unique as your love story.

Servings

My recommendation while designing your cake is to do so around the number of servings you will need to accommodate your guests. To avoid over ordering cake, serving 80% of your invited guest list is recommended. For example, if you invite 100 (including you and your wedding party), 75-85 servings would be best.

Because of the many unknowns in the world today, one month before your wedding, I will re-confirm the final RSVP count, and if needed we can adjust servings and design accordingly. Although rare, these circumstances have arisen and I am happy to make adjustments if needed.

Flavors

If you are doing a tiered cake, you can do a different flavor profile per tier. Since you and many of your guests have various palettes, this gives you the ability to treat everyone to something unique. You can view the full menu offerings by clicking the link below.

There are gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options available. Please be sure to note if there are any allergies to be aware of.

Design

Once you have decided on servings and flavors, we can work on the design. From fresh florals, to buttercream palette art, there are many design options to consider. This would include various tier sizes. I recommend coming to your consultation with an open mind to the design process, and also understand any recommendations will be for overall cohesive aesthetics, but also structural stability which may need to be noted for transport and weather related purposes. 

Wedding Cake Investment

Custom wedding cakes start at $150. Adding florals, toppers, delivery location and set up requirements are priced accordingly. The average investment for 150 guests ranges between $600-$850.

Set Up

A $50 set up fee is required for all weddings and large event which have additional set up requirements.

Cake Cutting

Cake cutting service is available for weddings and events for $75. This includes cutting, serving, clean up, and wrapping extra cake.

Cake Stand Rentals

Various in house cake stands and large bases are available for rent. Please notate in your inquiry if you are interested in renting. You can see current stand availability here.
